Amazon has disclosed its new lineup of the Fire tablets. Prior to the announcement, the company had made a statement regarding updates for the new Amazon Fire 7. What’s new? There are some interesting features it comes up with. A new display is one of the most talked about. It is not all about size because it will retain its original size, but there have been changes in terms of screen quality. The resolution may stay the same, but the visuals are sharper and more colorful. It also brags a lighter and slimmer body with a better battery on board. Buyers have a lot of choices when it comes to colors. There are yellow, red, black, and blue. The price doesn’t change, you can get it for $49.99. Being cheap and durable, no wonder it has become one of the best selling Fire tablets from the company.
Some people say that the changes are quite subtle, but it is alright because the revised parts are still decent. The display is better, also comes with dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity and improved battery life. For your information, the microSD card slot has been improved to support larger storage options. Another addition is support for 5GHz bands. The previous model only offered 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so this is pretty significant.
The new Amazon Fire 7 is still compact. It has a simple design and a sort of big bezels clad. Another striking feature is a matte plastic housing. Due to its small size, we can hold it with one hand. It makes a perfect choice for reading books. On the top, there is an array of buttons and ports, such as power button, volume buttons, and a headphone jack. The tiny speaker is located on the back, while one of the sides houses a microSD card slot. It doesn’t feel particularly rough, but still provides a good grip.
The device has a 7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,024-by-600, 171ppi. It’s surprisingly bright, which is an upgrade from the older model. There is an option to change the color balance with blue light filter. Overall, the screen is fine especially if you use it mainly for browsing. But for reading comics or other things that require more details, there are better options, like the Fire HD 8. This not only has a bigger screen, but also a higher resolution, so reading texts feel more comfortable.
This tablet is Android compatible, so it can run android applications. However, the UI is nothing like that on other Android devices. For example, it has a simple interface. Being an Amazon product also makes it easy to view Amazon content library due to it being automatically synced. Besides, it has built-in email app and document reader. If you want more, just go to the Amazon Appstore. (Also Read : Google Pixel 2 Render Appears with Minimal Bezels)
