Only a year ago Logitech came up with the G900 which was considered one of the best wireless mice on the market. This year it continues its reign with the release of the Logitech G903. It is not a totally different product because it carries over many features from the previous generation. The difference is buyers now have an option to equip it with a $100 pad which comes with a unique ability to automatically charge while playing. So, all you have to do is use the mouse with the pad, it will fill the battery. In other words, there is no need to plug or swap batteries. This is especially useful for those who like to play games for hours.

Design

Needless to say, the mouse has a futuristic look thanks to the charcoal black color scheme. But it is not the only thing that stands out. It feels solid in the hand, provides much grip, too. We also appreciate the customizable side buttons. Not everyone is right-handed, you know. In the default configuration, the two control buttons can be found on left, but they are actually changeable. If you’re left-handed, just move the control buttons to the opposite side.

Those buttons are not permanent. So anytime you want to play with the other hand, just pop off and change the location. The top houses 2 small buttons for DPI settings, located right behind the scrolling wheel. The scrolling wheel is incredibly smooth. Take a look at the bottom, here you can see a switch to enable or disable the wireless receiver. There is also a coin-shaped disc that you will need when it is used together with the mouse pad.

Software

Logitech provides one software app to control its products, including the headsets, keyboards, and mice. If you are a loyal fan that owns multiple Logitech devices, it will be very useful. In association with the Logitech G903, the app can help you with many things, including saving up to 5 profiles which have to do with sensitivity, lighting, and other aspects of the mouse. Different games require different mouse settings. Adjusting them manually can be time-consuming. To avoid it, you just need to store settings for all favorite games.

This way, the mouse will switch to predetermined settings the moment you get into a game. The side buttons can be set to 1 of 22 functions and this applies to the mouse wheel clicks and the DPI adjustment buttons. The software is also compatible with Smartphones, but for proper setup, you must download an app called ARX control. It is available for iOS and Android. Right after the installation, sync with your computer. Then you can continue by changing mouse functions to your liking.

Battery life

The Logitech G903 has a great battery life. It can last up to 32 hours, but it also depends on the settings you use. To make it last longer, it is a good idea to turn the LEDs off. There is a battery tab on the software display that allows you to monitor the power usage. It can properly estimate the amount of power used by each configuration. The battery reaches full charge in approximately 2 hours, so it won’t be too long until you can continue playing games.
