When it comes to affordable phones, Motorola has many series to choose from. There are many devices that come at high prices yet offer average specs. This one doesn’t feel like that at all. The Moto G5 Plus came earlier and it packed some great features. The G5S plus doesn’t disappoint as a successor since it comes with many improvements, including camera and display. The display measures 5.5 inches in diagonal. On the back there is a dual camera setup. Meanwhile, for performance the new model relies on RAM which amounts to 3GB.
There are some differentiating factors between the Moto G5S Plus and the G5 Plus. The former has a 5.5-inch display, making it ideal for gaming. It will also improve your watching experience. The build quality is great thanks to the metal construction. The new series benefits from a unibody design. Metal is one of the best choices. This material is mostly seen on flagships. With an affordable price, the phone feels premium. The colors are only 2, gold and grey. Thankfully, these colors are the most sought-after, so chances are you will like both of them. A fingerprint is added to this phone, located on the front right below the screen. In terms of responsiveness, it is pretty fast.
The Moto G5S Plus has an amazing 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. However, it is not OLED, but an IPS screen, instead. When it comes to colors, the screen delivers. The display looks sharp and features vivid colors. The viewing angles are just as good considering it doesn’t loss much detail when it’s viewed from different angles. It is a commonplace that affordable phones lack outdoor visibility. That’s not the case with the Moto G5S Plus. Text is still readable even when there is much light around.
The Moto G5S plus runs on Android 7.1.1. It is one of the most recent versions. If you are waiting for a 8.0 upgrade, don’t worry because the company has confirmed that the Android version will be rolled out by the end of this year. We’re normally annoyed by bloatware, but this is nearly free of such advertisements. There is only one, named Moto. You can use the app to customize features available on Android. The processor is the snapdragon 625 processor which handles various tasks decently. For a mid-range phone, this spec is expected.
But considering the phone comes with a 1080p screen, we would say the processor does a good job. The RAM is also spacious, 3GB. This allows you to run multiple apps with minimal lag issues. Although it is powerful, starting apps takes a bit longer especially compared to other flagships like the Google Pixel. But then again, this phone costs lower than the average flagship, so it is understandable. Games run well, although this doesn’t apply to all titles. There are certain games that require much higher specs.
