Razer has given a tremendous contribution to the world of gaming. It also has made a huge name for itself with its series of reliable notebooks. The Razer Blade Pro 2017 is a new offering you should check out. The 17.3-inch laptop comes with a bunch of advanced features. A display is an essential part of a gaming laptop. The new Blade Pro doesn’t fail to impress with its 4k-resolution touch display. This wasn’t even the most exciting part. The best part is obviously the performance as it’s becoming more powerful thanks to the GeForce GTX 1080 addition. They used to pack mid-range chips, so it is a major improvement.

Design

It doesn’t stray too far from the original design. As you can see, the exterior looks similar to the predecessor. The biggest difference is actually the internal components. It’s not hard to see the similarities. We can start with the dimensions. There isn’t much changed here, but at least the new series still feels compact to carry around. It doesn’t have to be the slimmest gaming machine to impress. The hardware speaks for itself and would easily put others to shame.

The top is sturdy because it’s covered in metal. There’s plastic as well, but the use is minimal. The material only appears on the key housing and keycaps. Open the lid, you’ll be greeted with a large 17” display. There’s a Razer logo at the center below the display. On top is a FHD webcam and a microphone. Another striking part is the bezels. Since it’s a gaming laptop, the large bezels are not that surprising. These devices aren’t made to meet certain aesthetic standards.

Display

The size is not the only reason why the screen looks captivating. The resolution is also high, making it look very sharp. The 17.3-inch IPS IGZO display comes with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. This is everything you need from a reliable gaming laptop. Colors are excellent, so are the viewing angles. There’s no color shift when we look at the screen from right to left. This problem only arises when the screen is viewed vertically. See it from above, you’ll notice that the colors are washed out a little. Overall, the screen is stunning as they come. Need more proof? It covers 100% of the aRGB color space, which means the display is terrific.

Performance

Performance should definitely be highlighted on a gaming laptop. In this case, the Razer Blade Pro 2017 delivers with its Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. It is useful for those who want to play games at higher resolution settings. This is what every serious gamer need to boost their gaming experience. As for the processor, it utilizes a Core i7-6700HQ quad-core processor. Other rivals like the Asus ROG G752VS offers faster chipsets, but after series of tests, the Blade Pro doesn’t lag far behind others in its price range. It can still run very demanding games with little to no lag issues. The RAM is spacious, too. There is 32GB of DDR4 inside the body. Though it’s large, you should know that there is no option to upgrade. To keep data, the laptop is equipped with 512GB of storage. It’s upgradable, but you have to pay an extra $300 to double the size.
