Near bezel-less Smartphones make their way into the mainstream. This futuristic design has been shown so much love because it creates an immersive watching experience. Now Ulefone has sparked people’s interest once again by introducing the Ulefone Mix. This is a remarkable phone which not only provides a gorgeous display, but also many desirable features.
The phone offers a 90.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. The top and both sides are free of bezels. Only at the bottom the bezel can be seen. Overall, the build quality is good. It incorporates on cell-technology, makes it way slimmer that it’s supposed to be. This will surely attract buyers who care much about designs. There is a fingerprint sensor that scans quickly. If a light sensor is typically located on top of the screen, this one is different. Due to the bezel-less design, the company has relocated it to the bottom right next to the front camera. The on-cell technology also makes a difference to the touch screen response time and viewing experience. The frame is all metal, so durability is outstanding. Besides, the Corning Gorilla Glass ensures that you don’t scratch it while being kept in the pocket.
It has one of the most fascinating displays for a budget bezel-less phone. The Ulefone Mix’s screen measures 5.5 inches with a resolution of 2160×1080. It looks sharp and produces vivid colors. The viewing experience gets a lot better with the 2.5D curved glass design. There’s none doubting the quality of an AMOLED IPS display. The pixel density is 439 ppi. This high figure indicates that the screen shows text and pictures seamlessly without noticeable pixelation. In terms of brightness, there is nothing to worry about because it pushes 500 nits.
The handset has a dual camera setup on the back and one on the front. Regarding quality, the Mix delivers. The Sony IMX258 ISOCELL sensor wasn’t added for no reason. It directly enhances the photo quality. The rear camera setup consists of a 13MP and a 5MP with dual LED flash. It may not as powerful as a DSLR, but the pictures are hard to distinguish from those taken with an entry-level DSLR. In this sort of setup, one is usually dedicated for composition of the image, while the other sensor is responsible for the bokeh effect.
Similar to other Chinese phones, the Ulefone Mix is equipped with a Mediatek MT6750T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. This is powerful enough for loading heavy apps. As for graphics, it relies on Mali-T860 MP2 GPU which is respectable for handling HD games. 4GB of RAM is included to support multitasking. It’s actually sufficient for most needs on this phone. Meanwhile, the 64GB of storage provides ample room for files and programs. There is an option to expand if the built-in memory can’t accommodate all the installed apps. It can be expanded up to 256GB, pretty big if you ask. The Ulefone Mix runs Android 7.0 Nougat. It’s not the newest, but rumor has it that the company will roll out newer versions to this device as well.
